Injury report for the Warriors against. Lakers: LeBron James and Chris Paul are out

The Golden State Warriors will welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to town in a game that will be nationally aired on TNT to kick off the second half of the 2023 NBA season in style. One of the best NBA games of the year was the Dubs and Lakers’ most recent matchup. I hope the action tonight is just as exciting and yields a better outcome.

Even though they had a week off, many players were still recovering from illnesses as they started this game. This is the entire report on injuries.

Chris Paul (fractured left hand) is out for the Warriors.

Sadly, CP3 will not be able to make it back for tonight’s game as I had hoped. But he’s getting close to playing again, and he’s back to playing five on five. He should be back either on Sunday when the Dubs play the Denver Nuggets or on Tuesday when they travel to the Washington Wizards to begin their road trip.

Dubious — Gary Payton II (disease)

The Warriors are unable to overcome their sickness! Even so, it’s far better to see Payton listed as unwell rather than injured on the injury report.

LeBron James of the Lakers is out due to left ankle peroneal tendinopathy.

James would miss the game on Thursday, the Lakers announced on Wednesday. It’s a loss for fans, but clearly a huge break for the Warriors. Watching James and Steph Curry battle is always exciting.

Christian Wood is out due to a left knee effusion.

With Wood out, Golden State has an advantage over the Dubs, who frequently struggle with athletic big men. In his debut season as an NBA player, Wood has averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 17.4 minutes off the bench with the Lakers, his eighth team.

Jarred Vanderbilt is out with a sprained right midfoot.

With this injury report, the Lakers lineup is lacking a lot of agility!

Gabe Vincent has had surgery on his left knee.

Vincent’s signing by the Lakers this offseason from the Miami Heat was a major move, but he has only been able to participate in five games.

Cam Reddish is dubious (right ankle injury).

After being selected with the tenth overall choice in the 2019 draft, Reddish is still attempting to establish himself in the league. Although he is currently on his fourth NBA team, he has played a significant part for the Lakers when healthy. He will miss his 22nd game of the year, this one included.

Max Christie is dubious (right ankle sprain).

Though he hasn’t played in the past two weeks, Christie, a 2022 second-round selection, has carved out a good role for himself in his second NBA season.

Anthony Davis is probably suffering from bilateral Achilles tendinopathy and a left hip spasm.

Well, none of those seems enjoyable! Although it’s likely that Davis will play, the Warriors will still receive a huge gift if he doesn’t.

Dub Nation, enjoy the action!
